Research Scientist

Job Purpose:

    Completes research and development by participating in research projects; supervising and developing research team.

Duties:

    • Training, assigning, scheduling, coaching and counseling research team; communicating research expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising research quality; adhering to research policies and procedures.
    • Contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements.
    • Providing project budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
    • Completing experiments by utilizing in-vitro and in-vivo systems.
    • Performing immunological assays to measure humoral and cellular immune responses.
    • Analyzing alternative vaccine formulations.
    • Characterizing antibody responses.
    • Monitoring cellular responses to selected antigens.
    • Managing team of 1-3 junior scientists and/or lab technicians.
    • Interpreting complex data outputs and preparing solid discussions and presentations.
    • Participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations; exploring ideas to add value to job accomplishments.

Skills/Qualifications:

    • PhD in immunology and/or molecular biology
    • Strong scientific/medical writing skills essential
    • Strong verbal communication skills
    • Minimum of 3-7 years of clinical drug development experience, including 1-5 years clinical submission authoring
